A Long Difficult Day

A Long Day

Today has been a long and difficult day. The Consultant at the Oncology Dept explained the treatment that they would recommend. It is gruelling and will necessitate hospitalisation for the chemotherapy. There will be three courses of 'salvage chemo' which will be followed by taking Mari's Stem Cell and then two very aggressive courses of chemo which will be followed by a Stem Cell Transplant.

There will be a team discussion next Thursday when they will examine all the scans more closely etc and Mari will see them after that. She also has to go to a clinic in the Midlands tomorrow for further consultation. Though Mari has been told the cancer is treatable, it is a very daunting prospect especially as she has not fully recovered from the last Chemo.

We will keep you updated and want to thank you again for your love, support and prayer.

With much love

Us

Hi there,
I stumbled across your blog a while ago while I did an online search for my uncle who is currently fighting HL.
I'm really sorry that you have to face yet another challenge.

In case you need/want some support from people going through similar experiences, there's a great message board offering support and p2p-advice:
