Hospital again this week

Hi,

I have enjoyed every minute of my needle-free week this week. I will be in and out of hospital over the next four days for the usual blood tests and injections. If all goes according to plan I will be having chemo ( number 13) on Thursday at 10 am.

I have noticed I am starting to feel more positive and I think that's because finally the end of treatment is in sight, with only 4 more to go! Then I will have a series of tests/CT scans/pet scan etc to assess the situation. The Dr's have always said I might need to have some radiotherapy when the chemo finishes so obviously I am hoping and praying this won't be the case.

Your messages have helped me to keep positive too of course so thanks a million, as always.
Love love love Mari x

Hey Mari,
As I read this I had an image of a finishing line with all your family and friends who love you cheering you as you break through that 16th round. I pray that this finishing line that is now in your sight mark the end of your battle with cancer. I wanted to put an image on this site but I'm not that great with tech stuff, anyway, in looking for one, I came across this lady's blog who had a blog page entitled 'Back of Cancer' - I've copied the extract below as I thought it might encouage you...she went on to run a marathon post cancer - amazing.

Love you Mari, Lisa XX

"What can I say? Today feels really GOOD and I have news to share... I wish I could scream... to everyone who wants to listen.... I never ran a Marathon, and I hope to get to that one day, but I imagine how must a runner feel when he/she reaches mile 26 and to know that you have 0.2 left... I don't underestimate how difficult these 0.2 miles must be but I also imagine that you can taste your accomplishment... This is how I feel! I still have my " 0.2 miles" ... but I can see the finish line...." Francesca Giessmann

i like the chipper tone in your (email) voice. It does my heart good to know that you are feeling hopeful. Wowzers! lots has gone on in the last 7 months... you're rattling off information about CT scans and injections like you know what you're talking about! you could always star in a hospital drama tv show after all of this. You have a lot of life experience you could glean from now. :-)

Hi Mari,
Why do you need to have your pet scanned? Is Dfor(dog) still around by the way. Haven't heard of him for a while.
You are a star Mari and sounding so positive after all you have been through. Liked Lisa's extract about the marathon runner.
Praying for you.
Lots of love,
Andy and Gill

Hi Mari,

Obviously we all feel a sense of your lightness of being and continue to pray for this to be the end of this hard phase and onto a time of you feeling a great sense of good abandonment and thankfulness to God - s summer of your soul! Meanwhile we do hold you up and pray for those side effects to be next to nil. We will be praying for you again at our meeting on Wed night. Lots of love Mari, Kate
