Chemotherapy tomorrow

Mari will be having her next course of chemo tomorrow ( Friday 16th UK time) at Southmead Hospital at 9.30 am. She has been in twice this week for blood tests. The chemotherapy seems to have a delayed effect so Mari is a little nervous after last time.

On a brighter note, Phil's visa has been issued, this is a lot quicker than he was expecting so thanks for your prayers. He hopes to be here by next weekend. We will let you know how Mari gets on over the weekend.

With love

Hi Mari,
Hold on in there. Great to hear about Phil.

During chemo we made a graph on the wall to plot 'Positive Mental Attitude' every few hours alongside 'Physical' and 'Emotional' status. The medics were impressed and even said it might have helped lessen the side effects.

Obviously with so much prayer in the air this won't be needed, but if you spot anyone else with a chart like that - it was MY idea!

Fantastic news about Phil's visa - get him over so we can check out this wonderful man!

Was thinking of you yesterday as I went for a run (training for the half marathon in 10 days, ahhhhh!) suddenly the heavens opened and i was soaked in torrential rain, initially it was pretty nasty as i tried to shelter my ipod from eternal disfunction but as i relaxed and pretty much surrendered to the fact that no part of me could run so fast as to dodge these huge rain drops, my attitude changed and I realised it was an amazing experience to completely be covered in such a natural element and still try to make the motions of running home.

The lyrics of one song i love to sing in my head when i run are
'You are my strength, strength like no other, you are my hope, hope like no other reaches to me,
in the fullness of your grace, in the power of your name, you lift me up. Unfailing love, stronger than mountains, deeper than oceans, reaches to me, your love reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness reaches to the sky'

I hope these words can be an encouragement and strength for you today as you face round two - ding ding!

Much love to all you wonderful Days xxxx

Hi Mari
I am about to go to bed which means you are about to have your chemo. I am thinking about you a lot today, and praying that your white cell count is doing well.I hope the treatment will be doing wehat it needs to do, and that your strength endures and your hope remains spirited. God is the doer of great and good things. He is the God who says in the psalms that He answers us when we call to him. He hears you Mari. God bless you.
