Surgery went well

Mari's surgery went well this morning. At the last minute they decided to give a local anaesthetic instead of a general... which was good news. Surgeons removed a node from the right side of her neck for testing. Doctors are hoping to be able to give Mari the results by tomorrow, but if there wasn't a clear indication it will take a week for a clear diagnosis. The presence of God in Mari's room has been really wonderful. She will look at the results of her CT scan with doctors today and then will leave the hospital sometime this afternoon.

I hope you recover from today’s surgery fast and better than expected. You have a lot of people thinking about you, praying for you and wishing you were with us. I'm so glad that God's presence is in your room in hospital. May it remain and grow stronger and give you strength and hope when you need it.
I'm so glad surgery went well.
I am in England for work in May. I arrive in London on Thursday 15 May and would love to come and visit you in Bristol Thursday/Friday if that works for you. Happy to help you and your family in whatever way I can. Love you. AJ

Hooray - I finally remembered my password! I've been smiling all day thinking of you. Would you believe Hec forgot to pick me up from the airport last night? Jack loved his presents and managed to drink some of the bubble solution while trying to blow and then threw up all over the carpet. I guess milk and bubbles don't mix well. Hope the 3 of you sleep well tonight. Your nurses fanclub will be missing you now...
I've just read what Cindy wrote and it really stirred me. It's the truth! Better head home myself soon. Much love to you all - I am missing you. xxx Shalome

Hey Mari,

Praise God for the surgery going well & for a local.

I have just been praying for you and have been just reminded of the awesomeness of the God we pray to. I pray for faith & hope to rise & that you will feel closer to him than ever.

Also praying that the results will come quickly and that you will know God's calming deep peace throughout everything. I have been thinking about Romans 8:38-39 for you. Nothing can ever separate us from the love of God.

We love you very much and are praying every day.

God bless

Hello Mari, Rhi and Phil, and hello Dave Day - I know you're not in NZ but didn't want you to feel that you were missing out on the prayers!

I wanted to offer another comment on how to pray - a bit of 'battle strategy' if you like. Today I felt that God said to 'Stand Firm' rather than to fight. The temptation when we sense the presence of the enemy is to go into battle, but I felt that God said we were not to fight, but to stand in the victory that has already been achieved - there is no need to fight again for a battle already won - Good News, Eh?
We can stand firm by declaring God's promises - those in His Word and specifically for Mari, but then you knew that didn't you? ;-)

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.....

Lots of love to you all,
Praying for you lots.
Cara (Medus)

Dear Mari - a day without hospital YAY!! :) Just sending you some love with the prayers today. I SO agree with Cara's comment above -
our God is SO able, has DONE everything you will ever need for this time, and KNOWS everything - He is ABLE to do even more than we know how to ask - HE IS AMAZING.
May all that He is, was, and ever will be, wrap around you, your family and those you love today, and hold you firm in this most amazing LOVE that has never failed.
Hugs XXXXX Judith

Very best wishes,

Hey Mari Day

Just wanted to say "well done brave mouse"!! As I was thinking about you today I was reminded of the times we used to march around the house singing I'm a brave brave mouse......amazingly I think we felt braver! So I'm throwing in a bit of prayer with the marching on your behalf honey, I'm glad everything went well today and just want you to know that you and your family will continue to be very much on our hearts and minds.
